By connecting communities and addressing the needs of the disadvantaged, Communicare plays a crucial role in fostering a sense of belonging and support for those who may otherwise feel isolated. The emphasis on recreation and advocacy underscores a holistic approach to improving the lives of senior, lonely, and disabled individuals. Join us in our mission to create inclusive and supportive environments where everyone can thrive.
Additionally, our Friendship Groups are held weekly around Auckland to support and encourage friendships. These gatherings provide a welcoming space for individuals to connect, share experiences, and build lasting bonds within their community. At Communicare, we believe in the power of friendship to uplift spirits and enrich lives. Visit a Group today |
Communicare is a not-for-profit association that has been serving the seniors, isolated, lonely and disabled in Auckland since 1959. We run Friendship Centres around Auckland, serving more than 500 members weekly with the assistance of over 250 volunteers and a small team of part-time staff. By creating a welcoming environment for people of various backgrounds, ages, and abilities, Communicare not only addresses the needs of seniors, lonely individuals, and the disabled but also contributes to building a more interconnected and supportive community. This inclusivity can lead to a broader exchange of experiences, perspectives, and insights, creating a vibrant and dynamic community.
